Um...yeah. Envisioned is the key word here. What really happened?
Tantrums. All.day.long. Over putting socks on. Over putting snow pants on. Over putting the new snow boots on. Over wanting to wear sneakers, not the boots. I want the brown sweater with the orange stripe, not the orange sweater with the brown stripe! I don't want to eat apple slices, I want a bowl of cereal!
And that was just with the Munchkin. I won't go into the gory details of it all but let's just say that a few adult tempers flared and I guess you could say that everyone in the family had at least one tantrum throughout the day. But the majority of the tantrums were by those who are 3 feet tall (FYI: I'm 5 feet tall). Some people had grand plans of doing absolutely nothing, since they too were having a snow day. This also involved doing minimal help in the child care department. Others just simply wanted at least a ten minute break.
Suffice to say that it was just a bad day for everyone all around. Yes, we did end up going outside. Yes, the Munchkin had fun. Yes, hot chocolate was had. No, baking did not happen. Neither did the knitting. No video games were involved either. The house was beyond cold all day long, even though the heaters were on full blast. We all went to bed extremely early.
Sigh.
I hope you had a much better snow day than we did.
I would like the opportunity for a snow day. We have had ridiculously warm weather here for the season. My boy's brand new sledge is going to waste.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some sort of random day off, even if it isn't a snow day!
Deleteaww that sucks you had a bad day yesterday. glad you got out a bit anyways! we went sledding at JDF... and tantrums were also had. hahah .. (um not by me) hee hee. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Rebecca! I would have loved to have gone sledding. So much fun! Maybe next year's snow fall? ;)
