Martha Stewart Cupcakes

I finally got the Martha Stewart Cupcakes book from the library, after being what feels like the last person out of thousands (yeah, yeah...major exaggeration!) to put this book on hold. As soon as I got my hands on that book I was salivating while quickly thumbing through it. Before I could sit down and thoroughly go through the book I just had to make a batch of cupcakes. It's only natch to eat cupcakes while reading a recipe book of nothing but cupcakes. Right? Not that I need a reason to bake cupcakes, but still.

I decided to make my new go-to cupcakes: the Carrot-Coconut cupcakes with Cream Cheese and White Chocolate icing. The same ones from this post. I don't know who was more excited about these: me or Brett. Anyhoo, so while the little one was taking a nap I managed to sit down with a cupcake, a mug of freshly brewed coffee, and my new bible.

I don't think borrowing this book from the library is enough. I think I have to own this book! I pretty much want to bake 99.9% of the recipes featured in this book. I love everything about this book, from the simplicity of the layouts, to the fact that each and every recipe has an accompanying photo. And they're such beautiful photos too! Definitely mouth-watering and taken in a very Martha Stewart way. Actually, the whole book is what I expected from Martha and her team. I even love the cover, it's sitting on the coffee table like it's the holy grail or something. How sad, I know.

This book is definitely my new favorite book, and how lovely that I got to read it while eating my favorite cupcake, drinking one of my favorite coffees (Gazebo Blend from Starbucks), from my favorite coffee mug in the house. And yes, that's a Twinkie the Kid mug.

Hmm...I wonder if Brett would oppose from me trying out a recipe a week for the rest of the year?

  1. Oh dear, that book would be bad news for me! The cookies one is bad enough! I've been going to the gym for just over a month and making progress, and your cupcake picture is killing meeee!!!!!

  2. OOoohhh...I loved the cookie book! There were soo many recipes that I still want to try out. And now with the cupcake book....ACK!!!

God for you for going to the gym. And keeping up with it! Thanks to Kole, I go for long walks every day so that he can get some fresh air. That's my sole form of exercise for now. I still need to lay off the sweets though. My willpower is non-existent!
