Then, as I was going over my 101 in 1001 list a few days ago I saw that one of my goals was to knit the Munchkin a sweater. So I am. This here is Duck Soup by Annypurls of Jujube & Lolo. It's an almost seamless sweater jacket that's knit back and forth on a circular from the hood down. The best part? This pattern is designed to grow with the child. Oh yeah. It starts out as a roomy 3/4 length jacket that turns into a tailored cardigan. How sweet is that?
I'm knitting this out of bulky weight yarn and so the knitting on this has been fairly quick. I was hoping this would be a quick weekend knit, but last weekend turned into such a busy one that I didn't have time to knit much. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get this done by the time this weekend is over. I think this is do-able since I only have the sleeves and the fun trimmings to knit up.
I just hope that the Munchkin does end up wearing this. I tried to get him to try it on a few days ago and he flat out refused. I have to admit, that kinda broke my heart a little. Brett tried to soothe my ego by claiming that it was too hot out and the Munchkin didn't want to put on a thick wool sweater. Hmm...that's definitely a possibility. I wouldn't put it past the li'l guy on that one.
I'm still going to brace myself the next time I try to get him to put it on.
That is the sweetest!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's also great that it grows with baby!
Thank you so much Vanilla! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a bonus that this grows with the babe. I can definitely see myself making this again!
