Hey! Guess what?? I've got an etsy shop! That's right, I finally opened up an etsy shop of my very own! Eek!! I'm so excited! I've been wanting to open up a shop for quite some time now, and had actually made it as one of my 101 goals to do but I just couldn't get enough sewing time in to build up some stock. After some procrastination and getting over the need to have a ton of stuff to offer, I decided to bite the bullet and just try it out with the four small project bags that I had managed to sew up in my (very) limited free time.
Ok, confession time. My shop has actually been up and running for a few months now but I didn't want to say anything until I could sew up more stock. Why? Cause I wanted to do something special for my grand opening! That, and I wanted to make sure I had more than 2 bags to offer! So I've been quietly working away these past few months and I think I have put enough in the shop to make a big deal about it now. So check it out here, or look over on the side bar of the blog and take a quick peek of what's in the shop.
I currently have small project bags for sale, which would be great for all those small knitting or crochet projects that you have on the go...like socks, a baby sweater, the start of a cardigan, or even the makings for hexipuffs for The Beekeeper's Quilt!! But hey, don't think these boxy bags are just for knitting or crochet, they can be used for anything! I'm really hoping that I'll be able to get a few large sweater-sized project bags in the shop in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for those!
All my bags are completely interfaced and fully lined, and all seams are reinforced with bias tape to prevent fraying and for added durability...cause who wants a knitting needle poking out of their bag? Not me!
Also in the shop, yarn-y notecards!! These blank cards are another thing that I've been wanting to do for a while now and I finally buckled down and got them made. I've been looking for blank cards that had a simple photo on it with no words or extra decorations. I've searched everywhere but either the quality wasn't there or the card wasn't what I had in mind. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my stash photos and thought about turning a few of them into cards but after that I didn't do anything about it. Then one day while searching for a card to include in a handmade gift I thought back to my idea about my yarn photos and how it would have been nice to include one in with my gift. That's when I decided to get off my butt and get these cards made!
It took me over a week to go through every single photo I had and pick out the ones that were of great quality and didn't have labels or price tags in them. Then it took me another few days to fix all the photos (cropping, rotating, etc). I don't know what was more excruciating - staying up 'til 3am to work on the photos, or waiting for them to arrive from the printers!
The cards are professionally printed on a nice weight of cardstock and have a light satin coating on the outsude, but are uncoated on the inside to make it easier to write on. All my cards are packaged by me (yes, I personally hand-folded each wrapper, cut out every little fabric strip, and glued them onto each package!!) and come in a set of 4 in a clear cello bag. These cards seriously make me squee with glee! I am so proud of them! I just hope that I'm not the only one that's in love with them!
Since I'm so giddy with excitement about finally being able to share my shop's grand opening with everyone, I decided to do not only a giveaway but to also give my blog readers a 20% discount on everything in my shop for the rest of the month! Just use coupon code GRAND11 at checkout to get 20% off your order! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me or send me a convo on etsy!!
