Something Old, Something New

Current WIPs 2
Before I start rambling on about what I've been up to lately, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the people who have emailed me, left comments on the blog, as well as messaged me and commented on my Ravelry project page for all of the lovely compliments on my Queen Bee cardigan! You've all made my day! A lot of work went into knitting it up and it's a piece that I'm really proud of, so it makes me happy to have other people acknowledge the hard work! Thanks a bunch!!

Ok, back to the regularly scheduled program...I wish I could say that a ton of knitting has happened over the past few days but unfortunately life got in the way. The Munchkin's "terrible two" side decided to come out and show itself (read: not fun, not fun at all!!), and so there were some nights where I crashed and burned pretty early in the evening (which is usually my knitting time), only to be rudely awaken throughout the night by the terrible two year old. My other usual knitting time, the Munchkin's nap time, was also replaced with me falling asleep in attempt to put the little one down for his sleep!

Yet somehow through it all I still managed to finish Shalom (it's blocking as I type!), finish a long forgotten about pair of socks (I'll blog about that later), start a new project, and just yesterday picked up an old one. If you follow me on Ravelry I'm pretty sure you already know what socks I'm talking about and what project I just started.

Maybe it's the delirium that's talking here but for some reason I'm feeling quite productive lately and really motivated to get things done. I personally think the knitting is helping to calm my nerves and helping me in dealing with a temperamental toddler. I'm not complaining (well, I am about the Jekyll & Hyde toddler!) cause you better believe that I'm going to take advantage!!

I think that's why I've been alternating working on 2 projects. I would knit a few rows of one project before switching to the other for a few rows and back again. I'm sure I would get them done faster if I just concentrated on knitting on one project, but if truth be told I think my brain needs a regular diversion. Speaking of which, a diversion is needed now. I think I'll go knit.

  1. 2011 must be the year of the handknits, because things seem to be flying off of my needles left and right as well (including a Shalom that is also currently blocking)!

Also, I now have to run over to Ravelry to find out what that gorgeous pink thang is. LOVE the color!

(P.S.: Ryan's work is having a dinner tomorrow night in LANGFORD at 5:30pm :( I may be able to swing by if the dinner is a bust, but otherwise will not be scheduled for my regular knitting night!)

  2. I'm hoping that 2011 is the year of the handknits!! I can't be too sure, since it's still pretty early in the year and so the need for change is still in the air. But I hope this streak continues! I have a lot of projects that I want to do!
