80's Flashbacks

I've been feeling too lazy to blog lately. I think a lot of it has to do with being utterly exhausted from the holidays whirlwind of activities, preparations, and all the other stuff that goes along with it. And I think my excessive consumption of leftover turkey also plays another part in my laziness. Either way, I thought I would at least pop by, say hello, and hope that you all had a great holidays thus far.

Since my in-laws' departure a few days ago, I've been trying to clean and get the house back to pre-Christmas order. As much as I love the holidays, a part of me simply can't wait for life to "get back to normal". To help motivate me I've been listening to the 80's music channel on Brett's XM satellite radio that he got for Christmas, much to Brett's chagrin (about the 80's music...not the satellite radio). I've had it practically permanently fixed on the 80's since Sunday, with only a 2 hour break from it last night to watch Zombieland (sooooo freakin' hilarious!!) and now, so that Brett can listen to his hockey game. I'm obsessed. I can't stop listening to it (sorry Jeremy! I'll admit I haven't listened to The Zone since) and I think Brett is seriously getting sick and tired of me exclaiming "I love this song!" every 2 minutes. I also think my son thinks his mommy is crazy, since we've been having dance parties every day. Ok, I'm having a dance party, my son just happens to be in the same room.

Anyways, Brett got an unexpected day off tomorrow so I'm hoping to be able to catch up on some reading and do some knitting. I managed to take advantage of the Boxing Day sales at both The Beehive and Boutique De Laine (hi Natalie!) and purchased enough yarn to keep me busy for the next few months or so.

  2. I soooo wish we had Sirius! XM doesn't have all the great channels that Sirius has. Brett's bro thought that cause Sirius bought XM that the line up would be the same...alas, no. I was really hoping to get the Martha Stewart station (I'm a geek, I know!) and Brett's really, really, REALLY into his talk radio. I'm not complaining, but I still have visions of listening to a 24/7 Martha station... ;)
