This is the second pumpkin that Brett carved last night! I'm sure it's pretty obvious (it is to me), but it's Dr.Evil from the Austin Powers movies. Brett had decided that all his pumpkins this year are going to have an "evil" theme to them. So the first pumpkin was Evil Monkey, and now it's Dr.Evil.
Brett isn't happy with his work on this one. I personally think he has been staring at it for way too long and needs to walk away from it for a bit in order to see what a great job he's done. It'll be interesting to find out what he'll be carving out tonight! Now that he's got 2 pumpkins under his belt this year, he's itching to do more and wants to go out and buy more pumpkins even though we still have 2 untouched pumpkins sitting on our front staircase!
On a completely unrelated note, my time with the Ashford loom is drawing to an end. Boo erns! I have a few kind of finished scarves, and by 'kind of' I mean the ends need to be dealt with. I think I'm procrastinating on that, as with all projects that involve some sort of weaving in ends, snipping ends, anything that has to do with yarn ends basically, I completely dread doing. But I'm hoping to do that sometime this week and hopefully I can get some photos taken of them over the weekend to show y'all what I've done.
In the meantime, I've been feeling pretty tired/lazy and haven't really been doing anything crafty. I think I just need a good night's sleep in order to get back into the swing of things. Maybe I'll do that tonight.
If that is Brett's version of "bad carving" I would hate for him to see my version of "good carving". His work is friggin AMAZING!
ReplyDeletewow, Brett's creations are savage! so so so good.
ReplyDeleteWoW! The pumpkins are freaking awesome! A person is always their own worst critic. I'm pretty sure that is the most amazing pumpkin carving EVER! Yay for you!
ReplyDeleteKat:
ReplyDeleteI know, hey??! My "good carving" would the typical Halloween Jack O'Lantern...nothing intricate like this!
Jeremy:
Lol...savage? Brett liked that.
Kim:
I'll pass on the comment to Brett, thanks! I agree, you are your own worse enemy. And in Brett's case, he claims he's not a perfectionist...but when it comes to his pumpkins? Oh yeah he is!! ;)
